Being a wedding photographer in Kent is such a privilege. This lovely corner of England is full of stately houses, beautiful churches, historic village pubs and the most stunning beamed barns so when I was asked to photograph Rebecca and David's wedding at Corpus Christi church and The Plough Inn in Leigh I was over the moon! The ceremony itself was beautiful and atmospheric. As Rebecca walked up the aisle on the arm of her proud Uncle Mike her nerves fell away and before long Rebecca and David were sharing a few secret loving smiles as they waited to exchange their vows. It was the perfect service and soon enough Rebecca and David were walking hand in hand down the aisle as husband and wife into the sunshine.
If you could choose the perfect Kent venue for your reception, the Plough Inn in Leigh would definitely be up there! This 17th Century country pub has a wonderful beamed barn next to it and an extensive picturesque garden complete with weeping willow. Guests relaxed and enjoyed drinks in the garden and following a beautiful confetti shot and group photos I took Rebecca and David off for their couples portrait session in the grounds. This is my favourite part of the day as a wedding photographer and I think for the newly weds it offers some much needed peace after the nerves and excitement of the ceremony. I like the portrait session to be as relaxed as possible to capture those very special moments as newly weds with some poses amongst the natural shots. Rebecca and David were just wonderful and their happiness together made my job a whole lot easier.
With guests seated in the spectacular barn, Rebecca and David walked in to whoops and cheers. The wedding breakfast was served and I couldn't think of a more stunning setting. The speeches were everything they should be with glasses raised and love, laughter and tears as fond memories and stories were recounted. The joy continued out into the early evening sunshine with more drinks in the garden, a quick opportunity for a few relaxed photos in the setting sun before the cutting of the cake and the first dance. From start to finish this beautiful Kent wedding was full of laughter, love and sunshine and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph. I hope you like the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them, and please check out the amazing wedding suppliers below.
