Given the opportunity of taking part in a vintage-inspired styled wedding-shoot at the seaside was not something to miss and this small group of very talented Kent wedding suppliers certainly pulled it off perfectly. Brought together by make up artist Kerry-Ann Wells who has lived near the sea all her life, she wanted to recreate a time when the english seaside was in its vintage heyday, and with Herne Bay providing some pastel beach huts as a perfect backdrop, our bride looked like she had stepped straight out of the 1950s.
Time was of the essence and our hair and make-up artists worked together seamlessly to pull off a timeless look which would match the shoot's vintage concept beautifully. Kerry-Ann chose gorgeous pink tones which tied in beautifully with the exquisite bouquet and Kirsten from Kirsten Hair and Makeup styled our bride's hair into a classic 1950s chignon which perfectly complemented the birdcage veil supplied by our dress provider. Nicola, our model was already starting to look absolutely stunning.
Cutting Edge Brides supplied their Pollyanna tea length wedding dress from their Brighton Belle range by True Blue and the second we saw it we knew it would be a showstopper. Its beautiful lace bodice with tulle skirt was the epitome of style and could not have been more perfect for the shoot. The bouquet which was supplied by The Little Flower Shop was a beautiful selection of roses, freesias and peonies which provided the perfect colour palette of creams, pinks and peach. With the finishing touches complete and with our bride transported back to her 1950s wedding day all that was left was to head to the beach.
Herne Bay is a quintessential Kentish seaside town complete with a shingle beach, a pier with merry-go-round and rows of little wooden beach huts along seafront. With the colours of the beach huts seemingly painted to match our pretty bouquet we spent much of our mini-shoot there and they didn't fail to please.
The beach and the beach huts gave us everything we needed to capture the feel of this vintage-inspired shoot and Nicola, our wonderfully talented model, pulled this look off perfectly. Photographing her was an absolute pleasure and as the sun spent much time behind a cloud I could make the most of the beautiful diffused light, which is every photographer's dream. I couldn't think of a nicer way of spending my afternoon, this really was a dream team and you can find links to their pages below.
