The minute Caroline mentioned to me that she and Niall were having a Bond theme for their wedding at Russets Country House I knew it was going to be a day to remember. A theme always adds a little something and I just knew that the element of sophistication (and fun!) a Bond theme brings would make this wedding a very special day. Russets Country House provided the perfect backdrop of intimacy and style. With its beautiful grounds, indoor and outdoor ceremonies catered for, an elegant staircase and purpose built reception and partying spaces it has everything a couple could need.
Caroline's relaxed attitude in the lead up to the day was a godsend and with Storm Hannah due to hit southern England in the middle of the afternoon we needed as many chilled out vibes as we could get. Luckily Hannah didn't really get a look in and we were left with a bright and breezy afternoon and could make the most of Russet's beautiful grounds.
With an elegant pewter, cream and navy colour theme chosen for the bridesmaids dresses, suits and flowers, the scene was understated and truly stylish. The table centrepieces provided by Michelle Rust were show-stopping martini glasses filled with the most gorgeous orchids and James Bond trivia and Top Trumps added a nice touch.
With everything taking place under one roof, I was lucky enough to have time to photograph both the fun of the bridal preparations as well as the groom Niall and his three best men (yes you read that right, there were three!) before the ceremony. Caroline and Niall's friend Ross played Bond theme music on the grand piano as guests arrived and before long proceedings began.
The ceremony went beautifully, guests made the most of the weather and enjoyed their drinks on the terrace, the speeches were an absolute highlight (all eight of them, including a few very special words by Niall's 10 year old daughter Ava) and then the party was in full swing!
Evening guests arrived to a casino and who doesn't enjoy a bit of roulette? I have never seen a newborn at a roulette table so that was certainly a highlight! I loved being able to capture candid and fun moments like this really do make my job an absolute pleasure! The brilliant Dirty Perks then played some absolute crackers to get the dance floor going and in fact the only downside of photographing this memorable day was having to leave mid-party!
It really was a wonderful occasion and I hope you enjoy looking through the pictures as much as Caroline and Niall enjoyed their wonderful wedding day at Russets Country House!
